HydraFacial and Medical Facials

HydraFacial, Bela MD, O2 Lift, and custom medical facials with licensed estheticians

Glow without gambling on a random spa

A medical-grade facial happens in a dermatology practice under the oversight of a dermatologist. That means stronger products, more precise protocols for specific skin concerns, and the ability to customize the treatment for issues a spa cannot handle. The result is often more glow and more real improvement in tone and texture than a typical spa facial.

Our estheticians work with our dermatologists to adjust protocols based on your specific skin. If you have active acne, melasma, rosacea, or post-procedure healing needs, your facial is tailored accordingly.

Picking the right facial and how often to book

HydraFacial is a strong default choice for most new patients. It is effective across most skin types, has no downtime, and gives immediate results. For patients focused on general glow, hydration, and light exfoliation, HydraFacial every four to six weeks keeps skin looking consistently good.

Bela MD facials go slightly deeper and include a boosting serum that delivers antioxidants and nutrients into the skin. For patients focused on tone, pigmentation, or anti-aging, Bela MD paired with a targeted serum can outperform HydraFacial alone. Recommended frequency is similar, every four to six weeks.

O2 Lift is best as a pre-event facial. The oxygen infusion creates immediate bounce and glow. It is not typically a standalone monthly routine, but it is excellent before a wedding, reunion, or photo-heavy event.

Custom medical facials address specific conditions. For active acne, the esthetician uses thorough extractions plus a blue LED treatment to kill acne bacteria. For melasma, they use gentle brightening serums and avoid any heat or aggressive exfoliation. For post-procedure healing after microneedling or laser treatment, they use hydrating and calming protocols to support skin recovery.

Add-ons can significantly upgrade any facial. Dermaplaning removes surface peach fuzz and dead skin before the facial, which allows products to penetrate better and leaves skin unusually smooth. LED light therapy adds 10 to 20 minutes of targeted red or blue light, which reduces inflammation and supports collagen production. Lymphatic drainage massage adds a relaxing finish and reduces any residual puffiness.

Frequency depends on your goals. For maintenance, every four to six weeks is typical. For specific concerns like acne or pigmentation, a series of treatments at tighter intervals may be recommended. For special events, a single facial three to five days before the event produces peak glow on the day.

Most patients pair facials with their overall skincare routine. A good home skincare routine does the daily heavy lifting, and the in-office facial gives the deeper exfoliation, extraction, and product infusion that is hard to replicate at home.

Which facial is right for you

HydraFacial is our most popular option. It combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration in a 30 to 45 minute treatment. It is good for most skin types and gives immediate glow with no downtime.

Bela MD facials use a different device that provides deep cleansing plus a boosting serum infusion. O2 Lift is an oxygen-activated treatment that brightens dull skin before an event. Custom medical facials are built around your specific concern, whether that is acne, pigmentation, post-procedure healing, or general glow. Our esthetician will recommend the best starting point at your first visit.

Why our facials outperform spa facials

Licensed medical estheticians

Our estheticians are all licensed medical estheticians with advanced training. They work in a dermatology practice, not a spa, and they know how to spot medical concerns that may need a provider's attention.

Dermatologist oversight

Every facial protocol is approved by our dermatology team. If you have a medical concern that comes up during the facial, we can get a provider involved the same visit.

Customized for your skin

Protocols are adjusted for your specific skin type, concerns, and recent procedures. A post-microneedling facial looks different from a pre-event glow facial. We match the treatment to your situation.

What happens during a facial visit

Plan for 45 to 60 minutes. You change into a facial gown, lie back on a treatment table, and your esthetician starts with a consultation about what you want the facial to address. Then the treatment follows a specific protocol depending on the facial type.

HydraFacial uses a handheld device that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and infuses hydrating serums in sequence. The device has a gentle suction that removes surface debris and congestion while delivering serum. Most patients describe it as a cool, slightly ticklish sensation.

Bela MD adds a boost serum infused with antioxidants. O2 Lift uses an oxygen-activated foam followed by a hydrating mask. Add-ons like dermaplaning, LED light therapy, or peels can be added to any facial.

After the facial, your skin looks immediately brighter and smoother. There is no downtime. You can wear makeup the same day, though we recommend skipping it for the rest of the day if possible to let the products keep working.

FAQs

How often should I get a facial?

Every four to six weeks is the typical maintenance schedule. For specific concerns like acne or pigmentation, your esthetician may recommend a shorter interval for the first few sessions.

Will a facial help with my acne?

Yes, as part of a broader acne plan. Medical facials help with acne through deep cleansing, professional extractions, and targeted treatments like blue LED. They are an adjunct to prescription acne care, not a replacement.

Can I get a facial after Botox or filler?

Wait at least two weeks after Botox or filler before a facial to avoid disturbing the placement of the product. We can schedule the facial to align with your aesthetic plan.

Is there downtime?

No. You can return to normal activities and even wear makeup the same day. Some patients have mild redness for an hour or two, especially after extractions.

How much do facials cost?

Prices vary by facial type and location. HydraFacial and medical facials range from roughly $150 to $300. Add-ons range from $25 to $100. Our team provides specific pricing at booking.
