About

A native of Rochester, New York, Dr. Michelle Militello is a board-eligible dermatologist who earned both her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science. She completed her dermatology residency at Orange Park Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, where she received extensive training in pediatric, surgical, cosmetic, and complex medical dermatology.

Driven by her passion for dermoscopic education, Dr. Militello is also the creator of DermoscopyDx, an educational platform designed to make dermoscopy learning intuitive, accessible, and pattern-based. DermoscopyDx is a comprehensive, biopsy-proven image library featuring annotated images, arrows, and pattern recognition tools to support learners at every stage of training.

Dr. Militello has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning skin cancer epidemiology, contact dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, dermoscopy of adnexal and keratinocyte tumors, laser complications, and the role of social media in dermatology. Her work has been published in leading journals including JAAD, Dermatitis, Dermatology, Current Dermatology Reports, and JDD, and she has presented research at regional and national dermatology meetings.

Clinically, Dr. Militello enjoys the full spectrum of dermatology, with particular interests in hair and nail disorders, early skin cancer detection, hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin diseases. She is known for her warm, educational approach and strives to ensure every patient understands their diagnosis and treatment plan while feeling comfortable, supported, and empowered in their care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Militello enjoys skiing, hiking, Pilates, cooking Italian food, and spending time with her fiancé and family.
